Why We Build Your Website Before You Pay a Dime (And What That Actually Costs Us)

What “free mockup” actually means here
Not a mood board. Not a PDF with some stock photos arranged in a grid. An actual, live, working page built with your business's real name, real phone number, and a layout suited to what you actually sell — something you can open on your own phone and scroll through before you've paid us anything.
Why we do this when it costs us real time
Because a mockup you can't interact with doesn't tell you anything true about the finished product. A screenshot doesn't tell you if it's fast. A static image doesn't tell you if the layout holds up on your actual phone, in actual daylight, with your actual thumb trying to tap the call button. Building the real thing first is the only way to actually prove the value before asking for payment.
The honest tradeoff, from our side
Some mockups don't convert. We build them, the business owner decides it's not the right time, or not the right fit, and that time doesn't get billed to anyone. That's a real cost we absorb. We accept it because the alternative — asking for money before you've seen anything real — is a worse way to run a business we want to still be running in ten years.
It also does something useful on our end: it filters for businesses that are seriously considering a new website, not just collecting quotes. Building something real, fast, tends to separate the two pretty quickly.
What happens after you see it
If it's right, we talk pricing and go live. If it's close but not quite, we adjust it — still free, still no commitment. If it's not for you, you walk away having lost nothing but a phone call. That's the whole model.
